The American criminal justice system holds more than 2.3 million people, and though only 5 percent of the world’s population lives in the United States, it is home to 25 percent of the world’s prison population.

Sister Inmate is a Los Angeles-Based non-profit dedicated to affecting a change in those statistics by providing support to individuals affected by incarceration.

The organization provides a passionate team of therapists, life coaches, counselors, and mentors to provide emotional support to individuals affected by incarceration, teaches life skills to those incarcerated in prisons and jails, educates society on the prison and jail systems, and what it’s like to have a loved one incarcerated.
